How can i set up the screen on Kali linux even when i try the step given i get a white/grey screen and my hdmi doesnt work ?

This worked for me. Install KaliPi-TFT-Config as described in the readme here: When you run the tool, select "1 Setup Display" with the following options (in order): • S040 Elecrow • elecrow35 Elecrow 3.5" Touchscreen • ROT090 90 Rotate screen by 90 degrees • Set the "Homedir:" value to "/root" (without the quotes; might already be the default value) • Confirm options and let it run. • When it returns you to the main menu, select "" and confirm you'd like to reboot. • Once it reboots, the boot up text will still appear over HDMI, but the desktop will load on the TFT screen. Hope this helps!!

resistive or Capacitive touchscreen?

Does the driver work with other os systems or only the ones given (ie: ubutun, kali, retropie and,raspbian)?

does *NOT* work with he recent versions of Kali until they fix it. Fresh install or if you update their old 2020 image, the screen stops functioning.

I have raspian lite, and the provided driver install script does not work. is there a specific driver for raspian lite?

I believe it needs the full Raspbian
