Orchid Bark - Medium (1/2") - 1 Gallon of Long Lasting New Zealand Pine Bark for Better Aeration and Flowering for phalaenopsis, Vanda, Cattleya and houseplant Orchids

I paid about $20 for a bag of "medium" size bark and I got at least 3/4 bag full of extra small to small flat chips, not bark. To think I used to pay just $4 for a bag of Better Gro orchid mix and complained about it being too big. I hate to say it, but sometimes cheaper is better.

Like, hopefully my orchid will too.A bit early to tell.Dislikes are the bag came with water in it, as droplets all in bag. I had to inspect it, i opened and dumped it out to dry. I saved it from molding. I don't have hot climate, i don't understand why water in bag? Like steamed up with droplets on plastic inside. Weird indeed. But to save my plant in need of transplanting. Humm. There was dry that came off bark a rusty color. Mind you its weird, they call it organic? I should have harvested my own bark. Be no add dye. I have a wood shop and work with it. Something strange. But if i save my plant ? Fine, next time im not buy from them.

Love this product. Not too dusty, and I completely replanted 5 orchids with one bag. That was two weeks ago, and they are doing great.

These were the perfect size for my homemade potting mix. The medium size chips are not too big and not too small- perfect for a potting mix to add that extra bit of aeration for your plants! I’ve used this in mixes for my 4 inch and up pots. Been using it for all my plants including hoyas, spider plants, philodendron, snake plant, etc.

I really like this bark, it's light and it makes my soil airy. I mix up the small size bark of this company with the medium size to get some great texture. Now it seems like it's almost impossible to find anymore. And trying to find something similar has me returning a lot back to amazon because they just don't compare.

i've used this for a while in a few sizes. it's really nice compared to most of what i can find right now (mostly really gross fir chips). the price keeps going up, which is really unfortunate, so i'll probably end up buying the 40L orchiata for 1/3 the price per gallon and have to store a giant bag of orchid bark for months :|

I’m new to orchid care and have only reported once. My orchids came planted in moss, which was much easier to care for—excess water is absorbed, and does not sit around the roots like it does with this mulch. Maybe that’s the way it’s supposed to be with mulch, but I’m having a hard time watering the correct amount now (after owning these orchids for 3 yrs, it’s only now a problem)

Love it! It is the perfect size for my Aroid mix! Great product. I will be buying it again in the future. The medium was perfect not to chunky and not small maybe a little bigger than a pea.
