Even though this cartridge is supposed to have a new electronic chip so that the printer recognizes as HP, my printer still gives me a "replace black cartridge" message. Print is great - black and clear. Paper does come out of printer with light black markings on back top of page. Great price! Would probably buy again for this price if quality of print continues and cartridge lasts as expected.

What else can I say? The panel LED display says "genuine." The first ten printouts were fine. My old cartridge that was included in my HP 2420 when it was new some years ago still has some life left in it.Since that review, I found that the cartridge did not last as long as the original hp cartridge that came with the printer. It didn't go through a fade-out stage toward the end of its life, but terminated abruptly. In view of the low price I still opted to replace it with the same.

I am an IT consultant and always preach to my customers to always use OEM ink cartridges and toner for replacement. HP puts a chip in their laserjet toner cartridges and the printers will bug you constantly that you don't have a genuine HP cartridge. Some cartridges can clog the printer or reduce the life of the drum and charger, but this one appears to be working well. I still feel that way about inkjet ink and will not buy after-market, but have tried this toner for my personal laserjet printer and it has worked perfectly. Printing is clean and clear and I have had no issues with the printer not seeing this as an HP toner cartridge. Ink and toner is one of the biggest rackets these days, so it is nice to find a less expensive alternative. I am providing my usual disclaimer that you should use non-OEM toner at your own risk. Every after-market manufacturer makes their products differently using different (or cheaper) parts and you may not experience the success I had with this toner.

I have had this cartridge for less than a year and do not really use my printer all that much. There is a white line through the center of the images that I print, and the black is not solid, it looks dark gray. Not a happy camper and would not buy this product again. The original toner cartridge that came with the printer lasted for 2 years or more. This was a waste of money.

Good quality.

Bought a refurbished toner, and a month later (and 100 pages later) it was out of ink. This is a poorly refurbished product. Would go with zero stars were it available.

Bought this cartridge in 2009 for $33, and it is finally on it's last leg. And I use this printer... a LOT. (Use about a ream of paper, double sided, each month of classes). I just graduated from Pharmacy school, and I would have gone broke if I'd had to pay for inkjet cartridges these last 3 years. No problem with my HP printer recognizing the cartridge. I would purchase again in a heartbeat... unfortunately I think this printer has seen it's day and will be donated to GoodWill or Habitat for Humanity shortly.
