Good value for money but nowhere near silent
I bought this 6cm fan to replace the one in my 2005 JVC RX-E5 AV amplifier that had become annoyingly noisy. The original fan was rated at 65mA, so I put an 82 Ohm 1 Watt resistor in series with this AAB fan to drop the current to around the same. This dropped the voltage across the fan to just under 6V and gave almost silent operation* with still adequate airflow.*In this configuration in a quiet room, the fan is just audible with my ear 20 cm away from the amplifier front panel. The "Super Silent" claim is definitely not true as this fan is audible from 5 metres away in a quiet environment when running on 12V, but if you're restricted to having to use this exact fan size and are happy to run at reduced voltage and airflow, this may be the right fan for you.

Quieter but nothing to write home about, lower airflow.
Like many other reviewers I found that while they are quieter than "standard" fans, but one couldn't use the word quiet to describe them.Less noisy perhaps. With a corresponding drop in airflow. I replaced 3 in a netgear switch. Airflow was about 1/4 of the fans that came with the switch.Points to note:- fairly silent when operated singly and not mounted in anything- they build up to speed gradually and are louder at full speed- they get noisier when mounted in a case- if you tighten the mounting screws hard/fully, it squashes the anti vibration pads so the fan blades hit them and make a huge noise- when multiple fans (ie more than 1) are used together, their noise outputs combine, and you get acoustic "beats" which amplifies the noise they make, especially mounted in a case.

Get more than what you pay for.
Good quality for the price. Saved me in a pinch and have had no problems with it so far after 3 months of use.

Not Silent!
Bought this to replace a broken fan in a CR10 SMART 3D Printer. Who ever rated this as silent must of been deaf. Before I could hardly hear the printer, NOW I CAN! Thanks!

Well............They look nice.
I bought these to use one to replace the fan in my Marshall guitar amplifier. However these fans come with three wires and three pin plug so a little bit of soldering and wire swapping will be needed.I Have no idea how they'll perform or how quiet (or loud) the fans are as I bought them for the aesthetics rather than performance even though the fans in the back of the amp and I won't even see it, but I'll KNOW its there, and that's what counts lol.

Wouldnt class as quiet and 2 of the 3 are now dead
So i bought 3 of these, (plus 3 of the bigger 90mm ones) hoping i wouldnt have to buy noctua fans for my 3d printer.Used 1 for hot end cooling and 2 for motherboard cooling. Bigger ones for PSUWithin 2 months, one of the motherboard fans and the hotend fan, began to sound like a bag of nails for about 3 minutes. Only one fan sounds as it did when i got them installed. As for the "super silent". They are about as silent as the ones i replaced which were cheap chinese fans and they actually pushed more air. So make your own mind up. I will have to pony up and buy Noctuaas.Would i recommend these fans.. noare they silent ... not on your nellyare they value for money ... not for use as a fan noDo they blow much air ... suprisingly... no, the stock fans did better

Great for my 3D printer extruder fan
Running this at 12.3V on an Anet A8 3D printer for the extruder fan.It is completely silent, compared to the stock fan which sounds like a jet engine it is fantastic. You can hear the MOSFET switching noise over it (it's that quiet!)Doesn't push a huge amount of air but I think it's enough for my application.Seems well made and 3 wire cables a decent length.

fan for computer heat sink
FITTED FAN D WORKING WELL . HAD TO COUNTER SINK THE SCREW HOLES ABOUT 6 MM AS THE SCREWS WERE NOT LONG ENOUGH TOOK ME ABOUT 15 MINS WITH A SMALL HAND REAMER BIT YOU COULD USE A DRILL BIT BUT A REAMER GIVES A NICE CLEAN SHOULDER FOR THE SCREWS TO REST ON.. IF YOU HAVE NO TOOLS YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF BUYING THE SAME FAN AS FITTED.MICK
