Tart, strong aroma, and crunchy due to seeds; not for everyone; seems a bit overdried
I tried 8 different dried fruits from this company. Overall, they were a bit hit and miss for me. I liked that they were all natural products – dried with no added ingredients like sugar or oil. However, it felt to me like they were all, with the exception of the cherries, dried too much. I think this most negatively impacted the smaller pieces of fruit (sea buckthorn, elderberries, aronia berries, and bilberries), which I found to be generally hard and almost inedible. Granted, elderberries should be cooked before eating because they contain a chemical that can cause nausea and diarrhea, and they, along with sea buckthorn and aronia berries, aren’t exactly tasty in the best of circumstances without alteration. In my opinion, all four of these smaller berries are only worth getting if you’re going to use them in an application that doesn’t involve eating out of hand. You can soak them, make a juice, cook them into a jam, etc., and they should all be perfectly fine that way.As I mentioned, elderberries need to be cooked otherwise they can cause gastrointestinal issues (I did eat a small handful out of hand and suffered no problems, so I don’t know how much you need to eat in a sitting for them to be problematic), but there is also something to be aware of with aronia berries. Eating them has an astringent mouth-drying effect that is noticeable and a bit unpleasant. That isn’t unique to these aronia berries. That’s an issue with all aronia berries, fresh or dried, regardless of the source. It might be best to use these to mix into other things such as smoothies. The bilberries, while too hard and dry to make for pleasant eating out of hand, do have a pleasant sweet and tart flavor and are pleasant to eat out of hand when hydrated. They kind of remind me of a cross between a blueberry and maybe a currant. The sea buckthorn is tart, small, and they appear to be small seeds in them. Although the flavor is completely different, they are structurally similar to small goji berries. I would also say that the bag, when opened, is quite aromatic. I was not a fan of the odor, but maybe others would enjoy it.The other four fruits that I tried were mango, tart cherries, apricots, and black Bukhara raisins, which are much larger and longer than regular raisins. I enjoyed all of these, though I think that the mangos and apricots, and to a lesser degree the raisins, were all too dry. They were still enjoyable to eat and had good flavors, but I wish they had had a little more moisture in them as the mangos and apricots were fairly tough.Given that there’s no added sugar or oil, part of me thought that they had no choice but to dry everything to this degree. However, the tart cherries were actually pretty moist and juicy, so who knows. The tart cherries are quite tart, so for me they are something that I’ll use the same way I’d use cranberries – sparingly and mixed with other things. The mango pieces are quite large and have some thickness to them. However, as I said, I think they are too dry. They’re still plenty edible out of hand, though, and I like them. The apricots, which still good, are too dry, and it’s pretty easy to get dried apricots that are still a bit juicy without too much expense. I think a lot of people are used to seeing dried apricots that are juicy and bright orange. These are dry and brown. I’ve got other apricots that are juicier but also brown. It just has to do with the drying process. Brown or orange, it doesn’t much matter as far as the flavor goes. The raisins are, in my opinion, the best of all 8 fruits that I tried. While they are a little dry, they aren’t as dry as everything else aside from the cherries and still retain some of that juicy quality. In addition, the flavor is quite good. They don’t taste the same as regular raisins, but if you like regular raisins, you’ll probably like these too.

Sour yet tasty
These are naturally sour and have a little bit of sweetness to them. They appear clean and properly dried, and make for a great quick snack. I’ve been using it as a sour candy substitute and it’s been pretty satisfying so far. The bag is huge so you might be better off breaking these up into baggies, but it is indeed resealable. Great treat.

Awful, chemical taste
I've been aware of these berries for awhile ... I purchase the fresh ones at Trader Joe's when they are available ... mmmmm, so delicious. I was really looking forward to these dried berries, envisioning a snack so nutritious. As soon as I received my product, I popped a handful in my mouth. I was kinda expecting the size and consistency of a raisen, even though I had read they were crunchy. The size of the dried berry was much, much, much smaller than I expected and very crunchy. OMG, the taste was pretty much the most awful thing I have ever experienced. I wish I had room in my freezer for another seller's 9-lb fresh frozen buckthorn berries. Don't know what I'm going to do with these !!

Good-quality and all-natural
These are good-quality sea buckthorn berries. They have a tropical-like flavor, quite tart, similar to a sour orange. The texture is a little dried and hard, but gives a nice crunch due to their tiny size. I sprinkle some on yogurt and it tastes good. They are also great on salads for the tartness and texture. I like to incorporate these berries in my diet because they are healthy and very nutritious. They are a good source of vitamins, antioxidants, amino acids, fatty acids and minerals. These come in a resealable, printed plastic bag with a little window at the back to show the contents. Mine is originated in Uzbekistan and has a best before date of 1/2025. Distributed by an Austrian company. These berries are certified organic and contain no added sugars, additives, or preservatives. Overall, I'm pleased with these organic dried sea buckthorn berries. Good-quality, all-natural and healthy. Good product.

Horrible--So Dried Up
Major disappointment, dried up little pellets would not even be edible. Will continue to order plump and delicious from Greece and Turkey, who are not on Amazon--so not as convenient.

Sour, but also a bit bitter, too... Will try to find a recipe for them.
I had never heard of Sea Buckthorn Berries, so I wanted to give these PlantLife Organic Dried Sea Buckthorn Berries a try, based on their flavor description.I absolutely love tart and sour berries, but these are also a bit bitter. They are a little too bitter for me to enjoy them raw, so I will try to find a different way to use them.It would have been great if the company had provided a website with recipes or a recipe or two on the bag. Hopefully, I will find a recipe for a treat that is really tasty and not so bitter. You get a ton of berries in this bag, so they will go a long way. For others, I'm sure they will love the taste, and I think everyone should try something new at least once. For those reasons, and because they are so fresh and will last a long time, per the almost 3-year use-by date, I would definitely recommend them.
