The perfect, POSITIVE book for children new to glasses! Great fun.
This is a fun, chunky book - full of pull out surprises! The story is simple really but extremely positive. Bought this when my 5 year old son was prescribed glasses and he loved and related to, the message.Arlo, (A slightly humanised pet dog) is no longer enjoying games and stories because he can't see very well, he visits the optician, here the reader is introduced to the process of a sight test and helpfully named equipment.Next, Arlo gets to try out several pairs of themed glasses eg 'Rock Star' glasses! You get to pull these glasses out of their pockets and try them on a pop up Arlo - or yourself! He finally finds the perfect pair, and the story ends with Arlo enjoying all his favourite things again!Really funny illustrations, my son loves the book, it's a great message - glasses are brilliant, cool and are good for you! This is the best book for children who are new to (or already wear) glasses, have bought others that don't come over positively.

A lovely book!
This is a lovely book to give to a young child who has to wear glasses for the first time. My grandson enjoyed putting the different pairs of glasses on Arlo. The book showed how glasses are beneficial in a gently humorous way.

Perfect for 1-4 year olds who are getting their first pair of specs
A lovely book with lots of interactive pages.A ball on a ribbon you can throw to Arlo (velcro attachment). Many glasses to try on yourself or a prop up image of Arlo. (stored in little pockets)A pull out section to change the image of the eye chart from sharp to blurry. My 2.5 year old loves it but we always make sure she is supervised with it.I recommend to everyone who's 1-4 year old are getting their first glasses.

Great for kids!
My toddler enjoys reading this book and we used it as preparation to getting her glasses. It really helped and she talked about Arlo at the beginning when adapting to her glasses.Nice images and the glasses are a great idea for kids to interact with the book.

A Fun Book for Teaching Children that Glasses can be Fun
Why aren't there more books like this for young children who need glasses? My little boy needed glasses at 2.5 years old. This book is about a little boy and a dog called Arlo who needs glasses. The book explains about needing glasses very simply, and there are some really fun pop out devices which make it really interactive for young children. It shows eye charts, and has a range of different glasses (all toddler sized) which Arlo can try on (and your toddler can too). I am not sure how long it will last, but I reckon we'll be having this as a story night after night and not just the night before we're due to go to the opticians! I heartily recommend!

This book is amazing. I bought for my 4 year old boy as we found out he needed glasses. He loves this book and I was pleasantly surprised with all the interactive things in the book - like the glasses you could try on. Well worth the money. Would recommend this book to anyone - great!!
