Was hoping for something like Vic Firth Titan's but....
Was hoping for something like Vic Firth Titan's - they're no longer sold anywhere so wanted to find something comparable. They were the perfect weight, felt exactly like a wood stick and played like one too. I do a lot of rim shots which chew up wood sticks very quickly. The Titans lasted me a year and half which I feel was very worth the cost.Since they're no longer available, I got the Techra X-carb but probably should have gotten hammer of the gods as they're a bit heavier. Not sure how I feel about first impressions - I noticed there's a seam going along the length of the stick which wasn't present on the Titans; the tip of the stick is also hollow. There's a rough edge at the butt of the stick that continually scrapes my hand. I might wrap the grip of the stick in tennis racket tape like I did with the Titans as they're very smooth so should alleviate some of the issues. These should be priced at least $15 -$20 cheaper than the Titans as the quality is just not there. No way these are worth $50.Overall finish seems sloppy to me and have reservations about long term durability but time will tell.

The Best I’ve Discovered!
I was skeptical about using Carbon Fiber sticks in general. I first ordered a brand made in Germany that were OK & will work for a backup pair. The “TECHRA x CARB” 5B are the best for, feeling like a pair of wood sticks, anti shock to fingers & excellent rebound! They have almost reached one year in professional use!

First use and I approve
Used the wooden ‘el cheapo sticks for a five or so songs and switched to the techra sticks for about five to ten songs. They feel a little heavier than the wood sticks but they are able to a rebound faster making the playing surprisingly faster. Let’s see how they hold up in the long term. I like them so far.

Excellent Sticks!
Excellent feel and grip. I use them for working out on a pad and they are perfectly balanced and absolutely straight. They appear very durable.

The closest feel to wood sticks
I'm a heavy hitter drummer. I play punk and hard rock music. I was going through an average of 1.5 of woodsticks a month. I tried Ahead sticks and they lasted about 3 to 4 months and they didn't feel quite like wood sticks. Someone mentioned carbon fiber sticks and I order two pairs of the X Carb 5A. That was about 2.5 years ago. They have lasted me this long. They feel very close to wood sticks and you can get them in different sizes. I love them. I still keep a pair of wood sticks in my bag to do rim shots as carbFiber sticks are not good for that...it just doesn't sound the same... more.

Not durable, broke after 1 month. Waste of money
I bought these drumstick thinking they would last longer than wooden one. They arrived on the 3rd April. I tried them and they played nice. Not as nice a traditional wooden ones but played OK all the same. The weight felt good and they felt solid enough. The sould ws slightly different to that of wooden ones but I can't really explain how, possibly not as crisp. However yesterday when my son was playing one of the sticks broke. It snapped near the tip almost splintered. Neither me or my son are agressive players, we can't be due to the noise it would cause for the neighbour so I cannot understand how a drum stick which is almost twice the price of normal stick would break after just over 1 month. Will stick to wooden ones from now.

Worth getting used to ...
I've used carbon sticks for a while now and, once you get used to them, I find them so much better than wooden sticks and the Tecchra power ones are nicly balaced and feel nice in the hand. They do benefit from having tape round the butt ends as they can feel slippery. As traditional sticks wear the balance changes and they also lose power because of the loss of weight at the front end.carbon sticks don't wear in the same way. There is no loss of mass so they remain constant in feel right up until the tim e t hey break - and they DO break. In every case, and I've broken four so far, its been about three inches from the end. Where it's the edge of cymbals that do for wooden sticks, it seems it's rim shots that see off carbon ones. Of course they do last so much longer than traditiontal sticks anyway but thet aren't indestructible.

So good I'll probably use them forever
I have to say despite the shattered Techra stick photo on here... From my experience these are by far the strongest sticks I've ever used. I play death metal which is pretty intense and I've had the same pair for 4 months, and they still don't look ready to break yet. Even my band mates are baffled as I was going through Vic Firth and Pro Mark sticks within weeks, sometimes in one practice and yet these ones just keep going on and on. For me they are the best sticks I've had and I highly recommend them to any drummer.

So far the worst drum stick EVER
So far the worst drum stick EVER. Broke on the first time of using it. I will be contacting Amazon tomorrow for a replacement and will assume this is just a faulty stick. This stick is advertised as a heavy metal drummers stick that lasts up to 7 times as long as a standard wooden stick. Well my husband buys a new set of wooden sticks about once a year and he's not a Heavy Metal Drummer, he's a drummer in our Church Worship band. I'm not entirely sure Techra have any bragging rights left if they cant prove this was just one out of many that was faulty.

Unsure about these. Hollow tips!
Are they supposed to be hollow? Not what I was expecting - instead of instilling confidence, I worry about breaking!Thought 'carbon' sticks would be fully solid but due to different material would bring benefits.Very much unsure about these. The weight is okay but also they feel slightly unbalanced.Trying to get used to them
