New Archery Products NAP Hellrazor Bow Big Game Hunting Solid Steel Fixed Blade 3 Pieces Broadhead Set

Haven't hunted with these yet. Purchased to replace Stinger 4 blades but ran out of time to get them dialed in before the season started. The reason for this purchase, I wanted to try an all steel, no aluminum ferrule, broadhead. Last year I hunted with a true cut on contact broadhead, Stingers. I like the long, slender, thick blades of the Stingers but their weak point is the aluminum ferrule. It will bend and the threads will strip around the set screw long before the blades break or bend. I experience this after my first harvest with these blades.The all steel construction of the Hellrazor's seemed to beg durability and toughness but I've found them difficult to get sharp. Contrary to the specs, as well as other reviews, mine did not arrive razor sharp but had a rather burred edge which kind of mimicked a sharp edge. Sharpening with different stones, they seem to be made from a soft carbon steel (440A maybe...?) and don't seem to be able to take a razor sharp edge. I'm sure they'll still perform but I think all of the broadheads I've tried before this these have had much sharper blades.The carbon steel is soft, maybe 440A and doesn't hone to a "razor" sharpness like the Stingers or other broadheads I've used.

I haven’t used the broad heads yet but I can tell that they are sharp and quality made. I done with mechanical and put together broad heads. There’s to much to go wrong. At least the solid welded won’t fail or fall apart and will pass through the animal Leaving a entrance and exit hole. I’ve researched on line and some guides don’t like to use anything else but solid welded. I wish they were a little wider but I’ll be giving them a honest try.
