Lovely Gaines set 😊

Beautiful quality at a bargain price. This wooden chess set looks delightfully high end.The board and peices have been manufactured really well. Okay so the peoces are not intricate but they look interesting and appealing. What it seems you're paying for is the wood quality. Some very nice wood has been chosen and has been finished off really well. It is a board to be proud of.The board folds kn half and contains chess and draughts peices. Unfortunately these are in pladtic clip baggy, if this item was at full price I would have liked to have seen faux velvet drawstring bags for the peices. Ill let it slide as I got it for £10.99.Lastly, this came beautifully presented. If this is a gift, it comes ready to go. A subtle but smart cardboard gift box decorated with a bowed ribbon. Delightful.

Fantastic product. Amazing quality for the price. This is a lovely starter or travel chess set. I bought it for my Daughter, to teach her chess, so didn’t want to pay a lot of money, in case she didn’t like it. For the money the set is very well made and detailed well enough to make out the pieces easily. The board it well made as well and has nice features like magnets to hold it together when closed. Only thing I would like to see are some drawstring bags to hold the pieces in when closed. That would be a nice touch but I bought some from Amazon for a couple of pounds! Would highly recommend.

Nicely made with this old school company’s packaging that includes a hand signed card from the packaging person. Nice touch.The wood used for the draughty, backgammon counters and chess pieces is rather light weight. Therefore it does not have the premium feel that some may desire. However as a multi game good quality wooden product it is decent value.Key driver was to return to a tactile world of non digital gaming. This certainly achieves that goal.

Good product

Bought this for my 10 year old boy as he has been enjoying playing draughts on his phone and asked for the actual board game. Saw this set online and thought great you get two for the price of one! Needless to say this is a very nice set presented well in the box and a very nice compact size not to big and not to small that it is annoyingly fiddly. Amazingly having explained the rules of chess to my boy he has fallen in love with the game and now we play chess on a daily basis as well as the odd game of draughts. His even managed to get his brother and sister to play! Excellent thing to have these days when we all spend so much time in the digital craze. This is a timeless classic and a great game(s) at a very reasonable price.

Great present to send

Well, I wasn’t expecting such a beautiful crafted chess board! I bought it for my daughter, she played chess at school and enjoyed it so thought I’d go for this set as it’s fold away, didn’t look too big and wasn’t plastic, well it arrived and we were both wowed by the packaging alone, I can’t get over how lovely this set it! Well made and the quality is stunning, my daughter said that it felt very personal, I would highly recommend their products if this is what you get for £15! I am tempted to purchase their more expensive products!
