Strong magnetic head, flexible yet holds its shape.
We were working on a high roof, and the bucket holding multiple tools slipped and we lost two crowbars, a hammer, and several nails. This magnetic tool allowed my son to safely recover everything, heck. we even found Jimmy Hoffa. Also, some roofing grit is metal. Super powerful and flexible but it holds its shape well so you can get to what your looking for.

Sooooo flexible and more than a magnent
I got this because I got tired of dropping screws and tools while working on my cars. You can drop something in the engine compartment and it never hits the ground with these newer cars. This tool so soft of aluminum that you can bend it to conform to any angle, any direction you need it to go. And the magnet is plenty strong.And... I am doing some remodeling in my home. Drop something in the open wall? No problem. I even have bent the end of it into a hook to grab a wire I was trying to route through the ceiling and it worked great! I will never regret getting this gem of a tool.

Simi Ridged Magnet stick
We had a metal screw fall into a section of conduit, under a floor and this was the only thing that got it out. Worth every penny. As a side note, the wand is approximately 8Ga solid Aluminum wire and can be shaped and bent to your needs. I, however expect that long term bending will cause a fatigue and a failure over excessive sharp bending.if it was made out of copper wire or an annealable material to keep from breaking it would be a solid 5 Stars.

It works SO WELL!!
My built-in vac sucked up a metal clamp that was about 4" long and 3/4" wide. I heard it go and shut off the vac but not soon enough to stop it in the hose and I heard the thing plunk down in the vac line in the wall. DANG! My first thought was to turn the vac back on and see if it makes it to the canister but if it got stuck some place else it would be worse since I knew it didn't go too far because I heard it stop just below the floor. UPS delivered the flexible magnet pick-up tool just a few minutes ago and I went right to work and got the clamp out. After I finished my happy dance I started writing this review because y'all gotta know this thing works!

Bendable but sturdy enough so you can steer it
The tool worked for me: I wanted to fish a screwdriver bit (just the front part) from the bottom of the inside of an armored door, the only (easy) access being the gap beside the keylock. During the "trip" down the interior of the door, despite sticking to the metal door, I was able to steer/push it downwards (due to its relative sturdiness) to reach the bottom. On the return "trip" I could bend it in order to control the way it came out slowly from the gap. Bonus feature: the screwdriver bit I fished had become magnetized after the pull-up (not magnetized originally) which made retrieving it through the tiny gap easier, since it stuck to the keylock. This was fortunate because the magnet would not fit to pass through the gap together with the screwdriver bit!All in all an honest tool. And the only one (due to length) that could reach the bottom of the door.

Powerful magnet
This would probably work well in certain situations but not for me. I dropped a small screwdriver into my engine bay compartment and it fell down where I cannot see it, probably only accessible from below. The magnet is so strong that it sticks to any nearby metal, so it is impossible to reach the area where the screwdriver apparently is. I can't get the magnet near enough to attract the screwdriver, it just sticks to any surrounding metal structure.

Unit has a great reach
The end of this unit has a very strong magnet mounted at a slight recess in an upside down aluminum cup. This allows you to reach down alongside an iron surface without affecting the magnet from the sides if you are trying to retrieve an object down between metal surfaces when you are working in car engine compartments or car doors for example. Really an excellent unit.

IT'S CRAZY HOW LONG IT IS
I've had several of these as there are times they are almost indispensable. Bit eventually they do break as they can only be bent back and forth so many times. This one is as long as it says it is, unfortunately I failed to read the description. I wish it was half as long. Also they usually have a little sleeve that retracts so the Magnetism to the side is blocked for when you have to tread it in and out past a lot of metal parts, this one does not have that.So is a great product and price but I will have to shop of one that is shorter and has the sleeve. I will keep this one as it will have its uses too.
